I really love baking
Jun. 2nd, 2011 10:06 amYesterday I bought tips and icing bags (3 disposable for testing, one reuseable because I can’t imagine why I’d need to constantly waste bags every time I ice) and today I am buying a mini-cupcake tin. I am very excited to bake cupcakes that are not giant so I can test flavours and not need to eat 12 giant huge cupcakes.
The flavours I am testing:
- Lavender! With Lavender buttercream. I expect it to be light and not overly sweet.
- Chocolate with peanut butter cream cheese buttercream (my taste buds expect this one to be lovely)
- Vanilla with cream cheese frosting (classic!)
- Ginger with ginger(?) icing (this is the only one that I’ll be following a recipe for the entire thing, as I have a recipe for it in one of my baking recipe books, and I believe it requires crystalized ginger, so we’ll see how that goes)
I usually just ice my cakes using an icing knife, but my cupcakes always look so messy compared to my cakes. I don’t know when I’ll be baking them. Not this weekend, but probably a batch or two next weekend. Then, after that, I might wait until a summer party (maybe a friends housewarming), to bake all four flavours so I have somewhere to bring them!
