I've decided to start making most of my beverages (except the soy milk I drink because I was addicted to cow's milk, but I decided to stop drinking it in an effort to reduce headaches) from scratch. Last night I bought lemons and made lemonade, I also bought raspberries to add to it, and I bought juicing oranges and club soda to make refreshing fizzy orange drinks on hot days. I know making soy milk from scratch is actually not that hard, so if I find myself with time I'll start doing that as well. I grabbed some really cute popsicle molds, and had my first batch of fruit juice popsicles yesterday while taking a break from staining my parents deck, so yummy.
If I wasn't working 9-5 5 days a week, I'd be making a lot more things fresh. As it is, I am awaiting the maturity of my vegetable garden. So far the only things I've been able to consume from it are strawberries, lettuces, and herbs.
I think I'll make some hummus this week, I have a ton of tahini waiting to be used.
When I am done my undergrad, I suspect I'll have a lot more time to explore my domestic interests.
